We are working with young adults to coach and develop them into strong leaders who seek greater career and educational opportunities, and who become advocates for a thriving community to live, work, play and worship in.
In January 2016 we piloted a program at the Orange County Youth Center-North (OCYC) where we presented self-development workshops and group career coaching to 28 youth and young adults that were enrolled in the OCYC program. The pilot was very successful, with 72 percent of the students deciding to pursue higher-education with defined career paths and 21 percent deciding to pursue business ownership.
Prior to our work with the students, a pre-test showed that 80 percent of the students were unsure of career or educational goals, and zero percent were interested in entrepreneurship.
We are excited to be working with the OCYC for the next four years, and developing partnerships with Orangewood Foundation, and the California Conservation Corps.
